Camp Heritage

Camp Hydaway is located atop Candler’s Mountain. This beautiful facility has served as a children’s camp for many years. The camp features breathtaking views including the beautiful Hydaway Lake, mountain trails, brand new cabins, recreation areas and boating docks.

Camp Hydaway features a miniature golf course, BB gun and archery range, water slide, game rooms and freshly groomed nature trails. All of these improvements create a camping experience that kids will remember for a lifetime.

Most importantly, Camp Hydaway has a top-notch staff of people who love kids—people who want to make a lasting, positive impression on every child they serve. The love of Christ is evident in the daily walks of the counselors. Even with the modernization of facilities and unbelievable activities, nothing will make a stronger impact than the relationships built with the very special camp staff.

Camp Hydaway has already become a special place for thousands of Central Virginia youngsters. Many young men and women can now point back to one of our ministry camping experiences as a pivotal point in their lives. Thomas Road Baptist Church and the Camp Hydaway staff are honored to be a part of such an exciting legacy.
